So here we are in a brand new year and it is time to look ahead and wonder what it will bring? Looking back on 2015 I can only say that I hope it will be an easier one with less of the unusual and unexpected problems that I have had to deal with during the past 12 months - even if they were all fairly minor and solvable, it would be nice with some clear, calm sailing now!
So far it seems promising: the first 9 days of January have been mostly cool, calm and intermittingly sunny with only a few nasty exceptions and it is already noticeable that the days are a little brighter and longer - by about 15 minutes I think - not a lot, but better than going the other way! I know that the rain and blustery days will return - but as they say: with a good beginning we are halfway there!
At this time of year there also seems to be an urge to start anew, tie up loose ends and get organized and ready for whatever is in store: putting the finishing touches on my last painting from 2015 (seen above) and updating this website as well as installing a new printer among other things. The website is still causing me considerable stress as I seem unable to deal with the problem of the text not uniformly changing from pale grey to black on older posts so they are very hard to read - I've tried everything I can think of but to no avail; at least it is only the older texts and from now on it should be fine (I hope) but I will continue to try - who knows, maybe all of a sudden something will click! The printer is quite complicated and I'm halfway there: the power is on, the inks and paper loaded - but dealing with WIFI etc. freaks me out so I may chicken out and ask my son-in-law for help when he, my daughter and their kids comes over to-morrow! Wish I were better at dealing with computers and the like - my 9 year old grandson may help out too!
Anyway, lets all hope for a great 2016!
